We stayed at this fabulous hotel for 3 nights on a bucket list family holiday in April (5 adults). From the moment we arrived we were wowed by the location. It’s secluded away from the nearby village but still walking distance to the local restaurants and brewery. All of our adventures within South-West Iceland were no more than a 1.5 hour drive away which beats staying in Reykjavik! We booked 3x superior Lake view rooms with balconies which were spacious and immaculately clean; they very much worth the money. Included in our rooms were: naspresso coffee machine, towels, robes, flip-flops, mini chocolates, mini fridge, toiletries, hair dryer. The rooms were warm and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We were lucky with the weather when we stayed with sunny days and clear nights! We even saw the northern lights from the balcony and hot pools! The highlight of our stay was the food this hotel has to offer. Breakfast was included each day and offered a wide range of hot and cold choices. I particularly enjoyed the waffles at the do-it-yourself station. The staff even allowed guests to boil their own eggs in the hot springs found at the hotel! We had dinner at the restaurant one night and I can honestly say I had the best beef I had ever tasted there, everything was so fresh! Others within our group loved the lamb too. The wine went down very well! We will definitely be back to this hotel in the future!

We stayed at the Frost and Fire hotel from the 28th December - 1st January. From the time we arrived until the time we left, the staff couldn't do enough for us. They were very friendly and approachable. Marianne even made us a packed lunch as we had to leave before breakfast for the airport. We really appreciated it. The views are breathtaking. We were very lucky that it snowed during the time we were there. The natural hot springs baths were an added special extra! We took a walk from the hotel up the mountain (the hotel will give you a route). We really recommend you do this! It took around 2 hours! We booked to go on a northern lights tour. You should definitely do this, but know it isn't guaranteed to see them. However, we saw the lights from the hotel on two evenings, so there is definitely a chance you can for that! The room was spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. We could see the sunrise every morning! Wow! The food needs to be mentioned. It was delicious and worth every penny. We had breakfast and an evening meal twice there. The Icelandic buffet on New Year’s Eve was amazing! Also the fireworks were out of this world! 🎆 We walked up the mountain path to see them and would definitely recommend you do that!

The bed was so comfortable , the room clean, view beautiful, the sauna was clean and toasty, mineral baths were excellent for relaxation, we had robes in our room so we could venture into the pools. Breakfast and dinner were A1! The bread was so fresh and there was such a spread of selections to choose for breakfast; breakfast was also made for us the night before so we could take our food early with us to the airport. There was a mini fridge in our room. Dinner was over the moon so good! I have not had such good food for a long time! It is fine dining so don’t expect heaps of food. I had the lamb and my husband had the Halibut and wow all cooked on the Geysers! Superb!!!!! The staff was very helpful and Mario went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. We would definitely would stay there again!

Stunning location next to the river with its own geothermal vent used for cooking some of the meals. Staff were very welcoming and helpful and upgraded our room for free. Very few guests when we stayed (late January), making it feel like we had the place to ourselves. The geothermal hot tub was fantastic and would be even better with a bit more illumination around it (although I appreciate this might detract from viewing the Northern Lights). There was a sauna and a 'relaxation' room, though we didn't use these. The food in the restaurant was absolutely superb, as it was everywhere we ate in Iceland. Don't miss a stroll up into the hills by crossing the footbridge over the river for a lovely view back over the hotel.

In a unique and stunning location, which you can enjoy best from the geothermal hot tubs! The room was spacious, modern and clean with great views. Staff were friendly and helpful and the location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area (Golden Circle) by car. The geothermal menu (food cooked in the hotel’s own hot spring) at the Varma restaurant overlooking the river was honestly the best food we’ve ever had!
